Susana Campanella, Gluteboost CEO

Susana Campanella is the CEO of Gluteboost, a health and beauty eCommerce company that focuses on developing products with natural premium ingredients to bring about effective results​. Founded in 2015, Campanella and the company’s mission is to become pioneers and innovate the beauty industry with results that are backed by science.

Gluteboost currently has 16 science-backed products in the market and has served 300k customers across 108 different countries. 

In this Client Spotlight Q&A, Campanella shares why she became an entrepreneur and founded Gluteboost, and what her and the team’s experience was like raising capital with Hum.

Q: Thanks for taking the time, Susana! You started Gluteboost in 2015. Can you share why you started the company and what was it you felt was missing from the current market of health and beauty products?

A: Thank you for this opportunity! After venturing in other industries and having the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge when it came to company operations, Gluteboost became the dream company for me, allowing me to use my scientific academic background with my entrepreneurial experience. This company is such an answer to an audience that loves to take care of their body, wants to grow their curves, but dread having to go under the knife. Gluteboost is the alternative-to-surgery answer for body-shaping solutions with amazing products that work!

Q: Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur and start a company? And what is it about the entrepreneurial mindset you enjoy?

A: To be honest I never predicted this to be my career path. I wanted to become a medical physician or a biomedical researcher. Things started to change when I got married and had my first child! My husband has a strong entrepreneurial mindset, so I’ve been able to learn a lot from him! It was during one of our early business ventures that I started researching more about beauty products with enhancement abilities (especially with the influence the Kardashians were making at the time) that I encountered Gluteboost and decided to give it the form it has now. What I enjoy the most is the freedom you get. Freedom to create, to decide, to influence others, and the freedom and the ability to make a difference in your industry and the people around you.

Q: With so many health and beauty products in the market, can you share how Gluteboost’s products are different?

A: Our formulations. We are redefining powerhouse herbal formulations for targeted-driven results. Science is evolving and the nutraceutical world is getting better every time. Besides our formulations, we have been able to group our products into “brands” which will give our customers the best results possible.

Q: What made you and the team decide to raise outside capital to help grow the business?

A: We’ve always been bootstrapped, but the company got to a point where we needed to be a lot more financially aggressive with our brand spend if we wanted to take Gluteboost to the next level.

Q: How did you discover Hum and what was the experience like working with Hum’s team and raising capital via the Intelligent Capital Market (ICM)?

A: We learned about Hum through an ad on LinkedIn! Working with Hum’s team has been such a delight! It has been way more than we could have ever expected from a private capital firm. The level of expertise from the team, their willingness to help and guide us, and provide top-notch advice has been exceptional. Hum’s platform is very user-friendly and such an excellent way to reach the correct outside capital for your company. They truly stand out from other capital market platforms. This is a business relationship that is adding more value to our company than we were seeking for – and for that we are very grateful.

Q: Can you share some ways that you’ve given back to the entrepreneurial community?

A: This is something we actually want to start doing through social media platforms. It’s been on my to-do list for a long time! We have been super focused on our customers and making sure we give them the best of us that I haven’t had that on my priority list. I am very confident I can be of help to a lot of female entrepreneurs out there wanting to take their business to the next level.
